This cutie-patootie, an S.F.B.J. 236, is known to most longtime collectors as a "Laughing Jumeau", for obvious reasons! She stands a gleeful eighteen inches tall, boasts a perfect bisque head (save for a minor eye-flake on the lower right rim), deep character modeling, blue glass sleep eyes with spiral threading, plus she has an open/closed mouth with two molded upper teeth and tongue tip. Of special note is her medium brown, antique human hair wig which is styled in sausage curls – a perfect match to her brow color.
On a fully-jointed toddler body, it retains the original finish in good condition, although the hands have seen re-paint.
"Pinkie" wears a darling dress of gauzy printed cotton, with a dazzling rose-pink silk collar and cuffs, brilliant pink socks and unusual antique rose-pink leather shoes! A matching hair ribbon ties this smashing look all together!

Emile Douillet bebe in a rare size 1, marked E.1.D and presumably made by the Jumeau firm, this wonderful eleven-inch cabinet-size example boasts amazing modeling and character for her small size. The bisque head does show an inherent, short baking line at the crown in front, but this cannot be considered damage. Further details include lovely coloring and painting, beautiful blue paperweight eyes, pierced ears with the original earrings still in place, and the original blonde mohair wig in its original set.
On a jointed composition body showing normal wear, Mlle. Douillet wears an original dress in pink polished cotton with silk and lace accents. In addition, she wears factory underthings and knit socks, plus Bebe Jumeau shoes in her size – 1.

There certainly was a lot of fuss over the Paris Bebe, as it was first a trade name created by Danel & Cie, then later produced by Jumeau after winning a lawsuit against the former. This lovely, 24” Paris Bebe is the first, a product of the Danel firm (incised in head Paris Bebe – Paris Depose). Features include stunning deep brown paperweight eyes, lovely coloring, a luxurious, dark brown human hair wig, and pierced ears. On a jointed composition body, she wears a fantastic antique couture dress of claret-colored fine silk, and wool that is exquisitely embroidered and further trimmed in delicate braid and wide ecru lace. Her under things, long stockings and brown leather Alart shoes are also antique.

What a gorgeous bebe! A product of Jumeau, no wonder! She is an exceptionally pretty, twenty-four inch Bebe Français who is marked B11F, plus red check marks.
This model is actually quite difficult to come by, and just lovely – her bisque is luminous and perfect, her blue paperweight eyes are top quality and her original auburn human hair wig is absolutely superb for its rich fullness.
On a fully-jointed composition body with the original finish (showing normal wear, especially on hands), she wears a smashing pink wool Kate Greenaway costume featuring smocking, cotton lace and feather-stitching, but it is her lace bonnet enhanced with pink ribbons which is a spectacular delight.
A deluxe bonus is the matching wool cape (light fading to front), and another is the wonderful pair of brown leather bebe shoes she is wearing – a "balloon mark" pair in her size – 11!
This Bebe Français is what an uncommon French girl should look like!
