Twenty-six inches of glorious early beauty is this Closed-mouth Kestner in a fabulous French-style ensemble.
Her glowing perfect bisque might be the first thing you notice about her, then there are her deep brown glass sleep-eyes, which are highlighted by luxurious lashes. In addition, she wears a long brunette human hair wig.
Her fully-jointed Kestner composition body is in sturdy shape, although it appears that the arms and torso have seen some re-finishing.
Your finest bebes will envy this pretty young lady's two-piece ensemble of off-white faille with its rich lace accents, and the exquisite placket and cuffs in leaf-printed, silk cut velvet. A gorgeous soft pink silk velvet bonnet with tulle and ribbon loops completes her world-class look...ooh la la!

Bruno Schmidt 2042

Wake up sleepy head! What an impressive German character this Bruno Schmidt 2042 is – the modeling is just incredible, including a very pronounced double chin, and the coloring – adorable. Standing just under twenty-one inches tall, this child bears perfect bisque, beautifully painted pale blue eyes, and an open/closed mouth. This doll actually has a solid dome head with painted hair, and somewhere down the line a very artistic collector placed a lovely mohair wig on the head, creating a wonderful look!
The jointed composition child body retains an original paint finish in very good condition, although there are well done repairs to fingers on both hands.
The little cutie wears a very charming woolen coat over a white cotton dress, along with a lace cap and antique cream leather shoes. An exquisite package overall!

J.D. KESTNER

We have always been particularly fond of this classic Kestner Baby mold – the 211, as a life-sized example was one of the first dolls in our own collection. Details of this twelve and one-half inch example include a perfect bisque socket head with very nice painting, an open/closed mouth, blue glass sleep-eyes, and the original skin wig which is a perfect match to the auburn brow color. The Kestner bent limb baby body has seen repair to fingers on the right hand, and a repaint, with an authentic shade however, to the entire surface.
Baby wears an especially pretty dotted-swiss gown with a fancy lace front, while a lacy cap adorns the sweet head.
Kestner babies such as this are under-valued at present, and in our opinion, that creates a very attractive opportunity for the comprehensive collector.
