A pair of Tea Caddies like no other! This splendid couple, in eighteenth-century dress, are of molded and painted papier-mache with inset glass eyes and were most likely born in the Sonneberg area of Germany. As shown below, their heads come off to reveal the tea of your liking. The pair were at one point, part of the Henri d'Allemagne collection , because they are included in a period photograph that appears on page nineteen of François and Danielle Theimer's work, "The Encyclopedia of French Dolls, Volume I". Their condition is good, due to loss of ornamentation on the reverse of the Lady's ruffled headdress. They measure eight and one-half inches in height. $ 4200.00 |

Pair
of carved and painted-wood Gentlemen in Regency dress, circa early nineteenth-century.
The handsome gentlemen each play a French horn, and stand in a manner that suggests they are meant to perform a duet. Their arms are pinned, so that movement of the horns to their lips is possible. The painted details of their clothing are subtle and elegant. Each figure measures just under five inches. $950.00 the duet. |
