The Parian
with
A
Bird

This serene Parian Lady doesn't seem to be bothered by the bird that has perched above her forehead. Why should she be? The bird on her head makes her unique. Another unusual aspect of this elegant lady is her earrings...molded and gilded!
This doll was one of John's absolute favorites..the presence of the bird delighted him. What also delighted him was this doll's total originality. Her underthings and clothing are commercially made, circa 1860.
Standing at ten and one-quarter inches tall, this lovely, rare doll is, in a word...magnificent.
