Right when you think you have seen *the best, along comes a piece like this sublime Huret Table, just to keep you guessing what might be around the next corner! We doubt there is another one of these* waiting in the wings, however! Details of this beautiful and extremely rare piece of furniture from the Huret firm include the classic twisted and gilded iron base that is found on most Huret tables, but the real difference here is the top! Finished in black lacquer, a central cartouche of raised lacquer features a scene in "grisaille of sorts", with the exception being the faces and hands of the two figures and the bundle of wheat the gentleman is carrying. The paintwork upon the columns is exquisite and delicate – note especially, the cat-tails and tiny tendrils. The edge is finished with a mosaic of crushed mother-of-pearl, with a "grout" of gilded dots, and further edged in tiny gilded tendrils and c-scrolls. The condition is excellent. This table is so lovely, it might be a shame to place anything upon it....but, that choice is yours. Measures: 8" high x 8" wide x 8" deep SOLD Thank you, Mme X.

Note the box lid features a very charming tea party scene, done in the Kate Greenaway style. The very pleasing palette includes soft blue pin stripes, gilded lines and pink blossoms upon each piece.
The perfect scale for large fashions, or medium-sized bebes, and showing just one tiny flake upon the pot's rim, the condition is otherwise excellent.
