Here we have a German all-bisque doll, attributed to Simon & Halbig, in a charming regional costume that retains its many details and accessories. Features include perfect bisque, fixed brown glass eyes, and an open mouth with coral tinted lips and a row of top teeth. His face is framed by a cropped, dark blonde mohair wig topped with a black wool hat. On a jointed body with swivel neck, he wears a regional costume including a linen coat over a blue and white polka dot tunic (costume presents scattered fading and wear, area of foxing at left front of coat.) Accessories include a white cotton towel with a red embroidered edge, a knapsack, a walking stick and a cylindrical container made of bark. Basket woven shoes with twine laces over white stockings complete the presentation.
