This delightful and petite dollhouse made by R. Bliss Manufacturing Co. circa early 1900s, is constructed of pine and covered with colored lithographed paper in a palette of the rich hues of the time period including mauve, vivid blue, green and yellow. There is a mix of faux exteriors including blue stones, fish scale siding and shiplap. The windows are made of early cellulose and feature ecru lace curtains. Further details include a portico with lithographed newel posts, an opening front door and a wooden front step.
The front of the house opens to reveal the interior rooms which retain their original papers including a grapevine motif in blue (downstairs), and a grapevine motif in red (upstairs), while the floors feature a geometric medallion motif in red (downstairs) and blue (upstairs).
Each floor Measures: 7 1/2” Wide x4 1/8” Deep with the lower floor ceiling measuring 4 3/4” high and the upstairs ceiling measuring 6 1/2” tall.
The overall dimensions, including wooden base are: 9” wide ,6” deep, 12 3/4” tall.Dollhouse does present age-related wear throughout with overall losses and fading to lithographed exterior and wear to wooden base (particularly front left corner).
