Here we have a wonderful Red Roof dollhouse by the German Moritz Gottschalk. firm. This very solid structure is made of wood and painted an old fashioned shade of goldenrod yellow and a textured barn style or gambrel roof‍ ‍in a rich shade of red.

Details include a downstairs porch with a decorative railing edged in antique millinery flowers, a front door painted sage green with a metal knob with a turn closure latch and wooden steps. The upper story features an open paned (no glass) door in sage green that opens to an enclosed balcony with antique millinery along the railing.

The bottom front of the house opens to reveal a large room on the left side 10 5/8” wide, 7 1/2” deep, 6 1/4” ceiling, while on the right side, there is an entryway and bathroom or closet with a functioning door. The downstairs retains the original papering including a variety of patterns including a vertical leaf pattern and a soft red lattice pattern on walls, while floors feature several parquet style patterns in rich gold and brown. The windows feature lace curtains.

The upstairs is accessible through a hinged hatch on the left side of roof and measures 8 7/8” wide, 6 3/4” deep, ceiling 5 1/2” tall, the walls are painted chalk white and the floor is papered in a wood parquet pattern, while an adjacent room to the right (accessible only through it’s interior door) measures 6 1/4” wide, 6 3/4” deep on features painted chalk white walls and a painted floor.
