We are pleased to present a German lady with an elegant bearing and an elaborate hairstyle. Details include fine molding and painting with blue eyes edged in delicate coral shading, vivid coral red lips, blushed cheeks, and exposed, pierced ears with pink glass earrings. Her black hair is coiffed into an elaborate updo with a crown of curls swept back from her face, delicate feathering at the temples, rows of loose curls in the back and a molded ribbon detail with the remnants of it’s original gilt finish (scattered rubs to hair.) Her body, which features slender spoon arms and cloth legs, has been recovered; the lower body is original (does present scattered, age related foxing) and the upper body is a modern replacement. The shoulder and chest area of her shoulderhead has been refinished. She wears an antique morning dress in pink calico with an attached belt, ruffled collar, soutache trim and crocheted buttons down the front. Underneath, she wears layers of antique underthings including a fine cotton slip, a flannel slip, pantaloons and silky, knitted stockings.
