Details of this classic French Polichinelle include a wonderful character head in papier-mâché on an elongated stuffed and dressed “puppet” body with a cardboard torso, stuffed, elongated legs and carton lower legs. A puppetry string adorned with bells attaches at wrists and below the knees.
Polichinelle is dressed in a very festive silk costume featuring a combination of yellow and brilliant cerise red with elaborate metallic trimmings and lace. A fabulous hat and shoes completes the presentation of this classic character. He is in nice antique condition save for normal age related wear, and displays wonderfully.
