Here we have a charming and early pair of “Patent” Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, made by P.F. Volland, circa 1920’s. Details of Raggedy Ann include a sweet face with black shoe button eyes and a head of brown yarn hair (hair is sparse at hairline.) Her firmly stuffed muslin body features a cardboard heart inserted in the left side of her chest, mitt style hands, hinge sewn upper legs and printed lower legs that terminate in red and white striped stockings and brown shoes. Her charming costume is comprised of a long-sleeved floral cotton dress (overall fading to dress) under a fine cotton pinafore. Underneath, long cotton pantalettes are worn. She remains in nice condition with only minor age-related discoloration to face.

Raggedy Andy also features black shoe button eyes and has a head of brick red yarn hair topped with a cotton chambray cap. His firmly stuffed muslin body features plump, mitt style hands, hinge sewn upper legs and knees and printed lower legs that terminate in red and white striped stockings and black shoes. His charming costume is comprised of blue chambray trousers (scattered fading) with mother of pearl buttons and a long-sleeved plaid cotton shirt with a wide collar and a black bow tie. He remains in wonderful condition with only minor age-related discoloration to face.
