One of the most sought after of all Maison Huret models is undoubtedly the painted-eye, swivel neck, bisque version. Complete details of this eighteen-inch doll include a perfect bisque swivel head with beautifully painted blue eyes, a perfect Huret shoulderplate with the proper heart-shaped neck opening, and a darling curly lambswool wig topped with a silk bonnet.
She is on a jointed wood and kid body in sturdy condition, (presenting normal age-related wear) with finely-modeled bisque lower arms terminating in gracefully molded hands. (It appears that both thumbs may have repair, but if so, the work is excellent.)
Her classic ensemble is comprised of a soutache-decorated jumper-style dress in blue silk worn over a fine cotton blouse which features tucks, tiny featherstitching and lace edging. Final details include lovely under things including two fine cotton petticoats, and pantalettes. Antique cream cotton stockings and white leather shoes complete her presentation. A very special Huret example – an ideal addition to any fine collection.
