French Fashion Attr. Louis Doleac in Breton Regional Dress
Fashion dolls from the Louis Doleac firm are difficult to come by, so imagine our delight when we discovered this extremely beautiful lady in a stunning regional costume with beautiful detailing. Standing fourteen inches in height, details include ice blue paperweight eyes, a perfect bisque head and shoulderplate with fabulous painting overall, and an exceptional blonde mohair wig topped with a cap with a lace overlay.
On an original linen body in good condition with kid leather arms and hands (minor discoloration to edges of fingers), she wears a particularly lavish regional costume featuring a red wool skirt with stitched accordion pleats in front and rows of lavish trim, a blue silk apron and a bodice and sleeves lavished with embroidery. A length of black velvet with bullion fringe and scattered sequins along with a gold tone cross suspended on a black velvet ribbon are worn. She wears fine cotton underthings, cream stockings and carved wooden clogs upon her feet, perhaps hinting at her rural village origins. Head Incised: 1
