Here, we have a mechanical marvel in the form of a Waltzing Steiner, from Jules Nicolas Steiner. Beautifully costumed as a Governess, details include a perfect bisque shoulderhead, cobalt blue eyes, an open mouth with two rows of teeth and a wonderful blonde mohair wig, worn up.
She wears a spectacular costume of sheer, dotted swiss cotton over blue polished cotton, along with a blue cotton apron trimmed in lace and bows. Final touches include a dotted swiss cape, plus a tall hat that denotes her important status.
On a carton body which encloses her mechanism, when wound, she will glide along, her lovely and perfect bisque arms lifting and lowering her exquisitely costumed infant which doubles as a candy container. (Voice box non-functioning.)
