We are delighted to offer a stunning and all original French fashion doll attributed to Pierre François Jumeau. Features of this exceptionally pretty portrait model include a perfect bisque head, ice blue paperweight eyes, and pierced though the head ears, but wearing no earrings. Her head has been left sans wig and is neatly fitted with a lavish headdress rendered in fine lace and silk ribbon.
On a gusseted leather body in very good condition, she wears her original regional costume which consists of a black wool dress embellished with lace, vivid blue silk, and lavish silver trim and metallic sequins and colorful beads throughout, over which is worn an aqua blue silk apron. Underneath, she wears a petticoat in vivid turkey red wool. Fine cotton pantalettes, cream stockings and black, slipper style shoes complete her presentation. A gold tone cross and heart are worn on a black velvet ribbon. Costume does present scattered tenderness to wool, particularly to upper arms of dress.
