Additional features of this enchanting poupee include a perfect bisque head and shoulderplate, lovely pale blue paperweight eyes, pierced ears fitted with blue glass earrings, and a marvelous original wig in dark blonde mohair. The back of her head is impressed with the size letter G. She is on a classic gusseted leather body that presents normal wear and scattered patching.
We appreciate the delicate styling of her silk promenade ensemble in ice blue silk. (Silk presents losses and tenderness overall.) The tiered effect upon the skirt is remarkable, as is the multitude of pleating. This ankle length style came into vogue in the 1860’s to facilitate better mobility for women and keep hems clean. Underneath, she wears a matching set of fine cotton underthings with lavish eyelet embroidery. Antique leather boots over fine cotton stockings complete her presentation.
