This lovely Bébé Steiner, a fifteen and one-half inch Figure A, is an easy to manage size 9. Further details include a perfect bisque head with very nice modeling and painting, cornflower blue paperweight eyes, and pierced ears with pink glass earrings. Her antique, pale blonde mohair wig is topped with a bonnet of fine straw and a crown of padded silk jacquard and ruffled lace.
On a composition body (Gesland paper label) in good condition, it does present normal wear throughout, particularly to hands, this child wears a vintage seamstress made two-piece costume of oyster colored silk satin with ecru lace details featuring a sleeveless dress with a full, pleated skirt with a lace overlay and a jacket with leg of mutton sleeves and a long, peplum style back.
She wears antique underthings including an integrated pleated slip of stiffened muslin a cotton slip and delicately knitted pink stockings under black leather, slipper style shoes. (Loss to one rosette.) A gold tone Bébé pin is worn at her throat. J. Steiner, BtS, SGDG, Paris, FRE A 9
