14” Bébé Schmitt, a classic "round-face" model in a petite size 00 - this is an entirely darling bébé. Her fully-marked bisque head features nice modeling and a creamy complexion (face does present a (minor) rub to left cheek, and nose), pale blue spiral threaded paperweight eyes with mauve shadow, plus pierced ears with blue glass earrings. Her wonderful, pale blonde skin wig is topped with a wired pink jacquard silk bonnet with a ruched organza brim.
On a fully jointed Schmitt body with the original paint finish that shows normal wear, Mlle. is wearing a classic, and what appears to be an original bébé ensemble in fine pink silk jacquard (scattered tenderness) with leg of mutton sleeves, a ruched bodice, a lavish, bustle style back and silk covered button embellishments, plus a hem of pleated, scalloped pink cotton.
She wears fine cotton underthings including a slip and ankle length pantalettes with a delicate tatted lace trim. Cream stockings with a fine red band at the cuff are worn over brown leather French style shoes with a rosette at toe. Again, silk costume and bonnet are tender.
