This substantially sized Limoges doll, made in France, is wonderfully costumed as a handsome lad in Scottish dress. Details include a perfect bisque head, set blue glass eyes framed by full, arched brows, deeply blushed cheeks, an open mouth with a row of molded teeth and pierced ears. His face is framed with a red mohair wig in a cropped style and topped with a black velvet cap with tartan trim and a thistle finding.
On a fully jointed composition body in good condition, save for scattered wear (particularly to knee joints and bottom of right thigh), he wears a fantastic Scottish costume featuring a nicely tailored black velvet jacket, and a vivid wool tartan kilt, stockings and plaid (plaid does present scattered losses). Black leather lace up shoes complete his presentation.
