22 1/2” Eden Bebe, marked EDEN BEBE PARIS 9 - a rare to find model with the character modeling that collectors refer to as the “Sawako face.” Further details of this exquisite example, made by Fleischmann & Bloedel, include a perfect bisque head that is pressed, not poured, an open mouth with six upper teeth, brown paperweight eyes (left eye with inherent flaw) that are highlighted by reddish shadow, pierced ears and a marvelous blonde mohair wig worn over the original cork pate.
Like similar Sawako Face models, this beauty is on her original, mechanical walking body with the original paint finish intact. There is flaking present on both hands, and some loss to the back of the left leg.
She wears a sweet printed cotton dress with lace accents, a marvelous bonnet and antique, pink leather shoes.
A rare to find doll and a marvelous addition to an advanced doll collection.
