Here we have a wonderful and quite early papier mâché chest. The exterior is finished in a palette of green with a botanical motif and faux hasps and keyhole in black with a brown border. Hinges are of cotton thread (left hinge detached.) Bottom of box features delicate pencil script (illegible.) Wonderful to house a small early doll and her wardrobe!
