Enclosed in a case of unusual brown gutta percha that features a floral motif, is a tintype portrait of an elegant lady in an ornate, stamped gilt brass frame. The lady possesses beautiful facial features, a center part hairstyle and an off the shoulder gown with a lacy shawl around her shoulders and what appears to be a round brooch at her bust. The opposite side of the case features a cushioned velvet lining. The piece remains in good condition save for scattered losses to corners in particular. This would make a beautiful addition to a doll’s trunk, or to display upon a dressing table.
