Here, we have a gorgeous and relatively rare to find J. D. Kestner “Bru.” Features include exceptional molding and painting to her perfect bisque head, very fair bisque quality, full, delicately blushed cheeks, spiral threaded blue grey sleep eyes and last but not least, a pouty, open closed mouth with lightly tinted shell pink lips and a row of molded teeth. Her face is framed by what is likely her original blonde mohair wig (worn over her plaster pate) and topped with a hat of finely woven straw in a soft celadon green which is trimmed with green silk satin ribbon and antique millinery flowers.
She is on a jointed composition body with sweetly blushed knees. (Body presents overall wear and flaking / crazing to composition.) She wears a darling drop waist dress in seafoam green wool challis with a ruched front, belt with shell button closure, round collar, puffed sleeves with a smocked edge and French knot embroidery throughout. Underneath, she wears a cotton slip with pink embroidery details and cotton pantalettes trimmed in crocheted lace. Cream cotton stockings and heeled, court style shoes in supple sky-blue leather complete her presentation.
