Circa 1914, this classic German bisque character baby is known as Kestner's “Hilda.” Features include a solid bisque head with molded and finely painted blonde hair, an open mouth with two rounded, pearly teeth, blue sleep-eyes (wax loss to eyelids) and lovely bisque.
On a jointed composition bent-limb baby body that presents normal, age-related wear (particularly to fingertips on left hand), this delightful child wears an antique gown in fine cotton with lace and embroidery embellishments and tiny shell buttons down the back. Underneath, a chemise, slip and flannel diaper are worn. Vintage pink and white knitted booties complete the presentation.
