We are delighted to offer a rare, complete set of Kestner “Das Wunderkind” in their original box. This innovative doll has four interchangeable heads (three painted eye character faces and one classic dolly face doll with glass sleep eyes), all featuring beautiful molding and painting and fine mohair wigs. The fully jointed wood and composition body is in wonderful condition and is clothed in a factory original cotton all-in-one threaded with celadon green rayon ribbon. A pair of tie front black leather shoes are also included. A wonderful piece of doll making history for display, or dress the completed doll (a beautiful painted eye Kestner.)

*Kestner made the heads and bodies for these dolls in-house and they originally included instructions and a tool to switch out the head; this may have led to a high rate of breakage, causing these dolls to be a relatively uncommon find.
