We are pleased to offer a German bisque, swivel-head child by Simon and Halbig - the rare mold #979. This charming child has a lovely moist bisque quality, an open mouth with two square teeth, a dimpled chin, and expressive blue glass sleep-eyes with perfect eyelid wax.
She wears her original blonde mohair wig, topped with a wonderful hat covered in silk and velvet in a palette of green and trimmed with antique millinery flowers and silk ribbon. Her pierced ears are fitted with antique gold hoop earrings.
On a straight-wristed, ball-jointed, composition body in nice condition, save for normal, scattered wear and a repair to her right pinkie finger, she wears a two-piece costume of fine wool in a vivid mulberry hue with aqua blue silk accents and tiny, carved shell buttons down the front (scattered losses to wool). She wears an antique slip and pantalettes, black stockings and black leather shoes (separation at toes of shoes).
