Simon and Halbig 1159 Gibson Girl as Bride
Simon and Halbig 1159 Gibson Girl as Bride
This stylish Gibson Girl, circa 1910 and a product of Simon & Halbig, is beautifully dressed for a trip down the aisle. Stunning features of this substantially sized beauty include blue glass sleep eyes with finely painted lower lashes and molded auburn brows, delicate coloring, an open mouth with teeth, and pierced ears fitted with turquoise glass earrings. Her original auburn human hair wig is styled in the iconic Gibson-girl updo and adorned with a lavish, cap style veil of cream net lace which is accented with antique millinery orange blossoms and wax buds and silk ribbon.
She is on a composition lady body with subtle, molded breasts, slim arms and legs, and graceful hands. The body retains its original finish and remains in nice condition save for normal scattered wear, particularly to hands. Her wedding gown is comprised of cream silk with delicate lace accents at placket, wrists and with a cape style details at shoulders.
The bride holds a bouquet of antique millinery orange blossoms and wax buds. Lace-trimmed under clothes, and antique heeled aqua blue leather shoes over silky cream stockings complete this picture of loveliness.
