This relatively uncommon German automaton from the Gebruder Heubach firm features a sweetly expressive character face with inset blue-grey eyes, deep blushing throughout and an open closed mouth molded into a joyful smile (tiny firing flaw to nose). This happy tot’s face is framed by a blonde mohair wig and topped with a bonnet of embroidered cream cotton.
On a body with a carton torso (which houses her mechanism), it features bisque lower arms in nice condition and composition legs.
She wears an original dress of ecru lace with a lavish shawl style collar over a muslin slip and pantalettes. Cream felt boots over cream cotton stockings complete her presentation (foxing to both).
When wound with a key in her back, this active child’s legs rock from side to side to simulate walking.
