We are delighted to offer a charming African American “Bambina” doll made by the British firm, Chad Valley Toys and based on the beloved 1920’s era illustrations of Mabel Lucie Attwell. This dear tot features character style facial molding and painting with round cheeks, vivid coral painted lips, side glancing brown glass “googly” eyes framed with thick lashes and a wig of soft black mohair in a sweet tousled style.
The fully jointed body is made of soft velvet and features fine stitching, firm stuffing and stitched fingers and toes.
The darling felt costume is comprised of felt overalls in a vivid shade of orange with faux patches (scattered, age related holes throughout) over a button up cotton shirt in a sweet floral print in a palette of violet and blue. Orange felt slippers with button closure ankle straps (slippers do present scattered holes, left ankle strap missing button) complete the classic look.
An utterly charming doll who remains in wonderful condition overall.
