Here we have an elegant couple that would be wonderful utilized as residents of a larger scale dollhouse or as “townspeople” in an early 1900’s vignette. They feature shoulderheads in carved wood, and cloth bodies with carved wood hands, plus stuffed legs that terminate in painted, boot style feet.
The lady features wide-set blue eyes, blushed cheeks and rose red lips, she has a center parted hairstyle in light brown with a gilt painted comb. On a cloth body with carved wood hands, she wears a costume of iridescent, brown organza featuring a sleeveless cream blouse, short jacket with puffed sleeves and a long, fitted skirt. She wears cotton underthings including a slip and pantalettes.
The handsome gentleman features titian hair in a dapper, combed back style, big blue eyes, gently blushed cheeks and a mustache with red lips peeking out. He wears a nicely tailored three-piece suit in a dark navy blue with a textured stripe over a striped cotton shirt, silk vest and black silk tie. The pair is in beautiful condition, ready to display. We are not aware who the artisan is who created the pair, but the talent present is undeniable.
