Here we have a wonderful Turner Sisters folk art peddler doll. This hardworking and happy character is a honey vendor. He features carved wooden character face with deep blushing, painted black eyes with wire rimmed glasses and an open mouth with a painted-red interior and a row of tiny teeth. His head of carved and painted wooden hair features a red-painted cap with a flat top which allows him to carry a wooden tray of “honey comb” boxes. He wears a black frock coat over a fawn waistcoat, patterned red cravat, houndstooth short pants.
