Here we have a delightful stockinette character doll made in France by Bernard Ravca. Details include a wonderfully detailed stockinette face with blue eyes, red lips and a kindly expression. She wears a snow white mohair wig styled in a bun and topped with a green paisley kerchief. On a firmly stuffed body that is wrapped in paper, with stitched, mitt style hands, she wears a rustic costume in a palette of green including a plaid skirt a checked apron and a blouse of finely ribbed fabric. Underneath, she wears ruffled pantalettes in blue pinstriped cotton. Brown cotton stockings and carved wooden clogs complete her presentation. She is off to the well to fill her two turned wood pails.
