Milly's Miniatures "Granny"

$110.00

The beloved dolls of Milly’s Miniatures were created by Mildred "Milly" Davis (1900–1973) of Greenfield, Indiana. These charming figures were originally sold in the gift shop of the Riley House, birthplace of children’s poet, James Whitcomb Riley (1849-1916), with many of the characters derived from his poetry.

"Granny” is rendered in needle sculpted cotton with a nicely embroidered and hand painted face with a grey yarn wig topped with a black lace cap. On a body comprised of cotton over a wired armature, she wears a black dress with a printed cotton shawl and carries a handbag in one hand and an umbrella in the other.

She is attached to a replacement cardstock base that is hand inscribed: Milly’s Miniatures Mildred Davis Greenfield, IN James Whitcomb Riley Home "Granny”
Measures: 3” tall
