Milly's Miniatures “Guitar Man”

$145.00

The beloved dolls of Milly’s Miniatures were created by Mildred "Milly" Davis (1900–1973) of Greenfield, Indiana. These charming figures were originally sold in the gift shop of the Riley House, birthplace of children’s poet, James Whitcomb Riley (1849-1916), with many of the characters derived from his poetry.

"Guitar Man” is rendered in needle sculpted cotton with a nicely embroidered and hand painted face with a head of red yarn hair topped with a purple velvet hat. On a body comprised of cotton over a wired armature, he wears a purple coat, striped pants and black shoes. He carries a tiny wooden guitar.

He is attached to a replacement cardstock base that is hand inscribed: Milly’s Miniatures "Guitar Man"
Measures: 3” tall
