Milly's Miniatures “The Prayer Perfect”

$110.00

The beloved dolls of Milly’s Miniatures were created by Mildred "Milly" Davis (1900–1973) of Greenfield, Indiana. The charming figures were originally sold in the gift shop of the Riley House, birthplace of children’s poet, James Whitcomb Riley (1849-1916), with many of the characters derived from his poetry.

“The Prayer Perfect” features an angelic little girl in needle sculpted cotton with a nicely embroidered and hand painted face with a head of golden blonde yarn hair. On a body comprised of cotton over a wired armature, she wears an angel’s costume in cream taffeta with the remnants of feathered wings in back and holds a paper book in her hands. She remains in nice condition, save for scattered discoloration to gown.

She is attached to a replacement cardstock base that is hand inscribed: Milly’s Miniatures “The Perfect Prayer” (sic)
Measures: 3” tall
