Here we have “The World’s Darling,” Shirley Temple. Made by Ideal, this little cutie is an early and less common version of the beloved doll. Details include a nicely molded composition face with aqua blue sleep eyes (the lithographed tin variety) a sweet, rosy complexion, dimples and an open mouth with red lips and a row of pearly teeth. Her face is framed with her signature head of ginger curls adorned with blue silk ribbons.
On a jointed composition body with straight legs, she retains her original presentation featuring a dress of pleated organza in a fine blue polka dot. Silky cream socks and cream oilcloth shoes complete her presentation. She wears a pin that reads The World’s Darling Genuine Shirley Temple Doll. Underneath, she wears a skirted all-in-one in stiffened cotton muslin. She remains in wonderful antique condition with minor crazing to chin and lower right cheek. Measures: 12 1/4” tall
